"The American West is, and there is not the slightest doubt
about it, my biggest inspiration," says Frick.
From 2006 to Presence, Frick has explored 110,000
miles of the West from El Paso, Texas to Cheyenne,
Wyo. and everywhere in between. "I am a great fan
of Western history...especially...the American
Indians," says Frick.
"There is no battleground I have
not visited, no Indian reservation I haven't seen, and
to my friends, I sometimes say: Wherever an Indian
arrow has landed, I have seen the spot."
Mentored by Sergei Bongart, Frick saw the master
six days before he died in 1985."I never saw or met
anyone who could replace him...his last words (to me):
'Keep painting, you are very talented,' are my
greatest treasure."
With Frick's lush landscapes with vivid colors and
passionate brushstrokes, it's easy to agree with
Bongart.

Originally working as a sports Journalist, landscape
painter Guido Frick began his art career like painter
Frida Kahlo (1907-1954). After a vehicle accident in
his 20s, Frick was bedridden from hip and leg
injuries. "l remembered how much I liked to draw
and paint in high school," says Frick. "I suddenly
knew I had found something that would put sense
into the two recovering years. I started to paint like
crazy."
Enrolling in an art academy in Constance, his
home-town in southern Germany, Frick decided on
landscapes for his subject matter, and became
"absolutely dedicated to painting outdoors."
Now living in Germany Frick
conducts Workshops for Student painters while
he explores the land .
